1 in 100 Americans Wanted to Commit Suicide
0Here’s some new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that will certainly make you feel better about yourself. 8 million adults reported considering suicide at some point between 2008 and 2009. Meanwhile, 2 million actually made plans to do it.
For the statically challenged out there, that is equal to 1% of the American population. Rhode Island pulled out on top with the highest rate of attempts: 1 in 67. But it is totally not a competition.
An average of 35,000 people commit suicide every year.
