“Check-in” To Intercourse?
0“Checking-in” has become a common practice in the age of social media. Using a variety of tools, you can let friends know which restaurant you are eating at or what movie plan to see. People have become crazed about letting all of their friends know where they are at all times.
According to RightThisMinute, Planned Parenthood is planning to contribute to this new fad. The company recently gave out sixty thousand condoms with QR codes that lead you to a new website which asks you to check-in with information about how/where the condom was used.
Creepy? Definitely.
Planned Parenthood is using the “check-in” trend to make it cool to talk about using a condom, which of course is the safe way to have sex. Even if you didn’t receive one of the fancy condoms, you can still use the website to let the world know about your sex-capades.
The site allows you to submit your information which it will then drop on a map and make public to all the creeps who are interested in your sex life.
While I doubt this site will stick, it does achieve what it sets out to do. Make noise and get public attention.
