Saskatoon Woman Sends Prank Text to Police About Dead Body
0A Saskatoon woman found herself in hot water after following a recent post on Pinterest.
The post read: “When I’m bored, I send a text to a random number saying, ‘I hid the body … now what?’”
This particular 25-year-old woman did just that. Unfortunately for her, one of the numbers she texted belonged to an off-duty cop from outside the city. The officer then traced the cellphone number and made a report to city police.
Suffice to say, the prank backfired when cops arrived and surrounded her residence.
“Because we did not really know what we were responding to — we didn’t know if there were weapons involved, we didn’t know if a major crime had taken place inside that address — we surrounded that address and requested that individuals inside come out,” said Saskatoon police spokesperson Const. TishaRae Stonehouse.
After the stand-off ended, the woman was let off with a criminal warning for mischief.
