Car Thief Butt Dials 911 Until He Is Caught

On March 14th, a Washington police dispatch centre received a 44-minute butt dial. During the call, they heard male voices talking about various cars they were planning to steal.

The dispatchers immediately informed the police, but unfortunately the thieves couldn’t be traced. A few hours later – a car matching the description that was heard on the call was reported stolen.

A few days later, two more ‘accidental’ calls came in with similar results.

After the fourth accidental call from the same number, police were finally able to track the phone to an apartment building.

The man didn’t put up much of a fight, admitting to the theft of multiple cars and having a phone that sometimes dials 911 for no reason.
