So you think you have what it takes to become a writer and want to advance your skills?
To make the process of becoming a self-absorbed writer a little easier, here are a few tips that you should follow blindly:
1 – Purchase a clicky keyboard – you must own one – otherwise how else will people know you are working?
2 – You must drink coffee. Not just any coffee however –
quality coffee obsessively anal quality coffee.
3 – Don’t worry about external shit.
4 – Don’t write about yourself.
5 – Get outside and experience what the world has to offer. You won’t be inspired sitting at a desk.
6 – Don’t write about what you normally read about. Think outside the box.
7 – You may think you don’t need to edit, but check again in an hour.
8 – Get dressed. You are a better writer when you are clothed. Believe me, this post would be shit if I wasn’t wearing dress pants.
9 – “Too clever is dumb.” Try actively to not think when you are writing.
10 – Accept criticism. Don’t take it personal – it’s not you, it’s your writing.
BONUS TIP: Don’t take advice from other writers. They are jealous of your skill, including me.
Oh yeah, and stop liking money. You won’t find any of that while writing.
