According to a new report released by TorrentFreak, ‘Game of Thrones’ averages around 3.9 million downloads per episode. Compare this to the 3.8 million people watching Game of Thrones on HBO (via Wikipedia) – and you have more people torrenting the show than actually watching it on TV.

This doesn’t come as a major surprise due to the fan base the show has attracted. Those who watch the show are the types that are more likely to torrent media than others. And who really wants to pay $10/month for HBO?
