In an email to Daily Beast today, Anderson Cooper officially came out of the closet — a move that fails to surprise most.

“The fact is, I’m gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn’t be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud.”

Cooper says that we was never uncomfortable being a gay man, but found that it made him a more effective journalist.
