Man Arrested For Trying To Kill Officers With Fireworks

A Orlando man is accused of trying to kill several Orlando police officers with fireworks. Investigators say that the suspect shot multiple fireworks toward the officers on July 4th.

Khasim Stephenson was arrested on four counts of attempted second degree murder.

“You don’t shoot at law enforcement, you know.  What do you think is going to happen?” said resident Eric Allen.

Police say that Stephenson and multiple other suspects shot fireworks in their direction.

“The green fireballs were being fired in our direction.  All of us felt as if we were being fired upon.”

Stephenson was arrested once he was identified as the one shooting the fireworks. He was on house arrest Friday after posting a $16,000 bond.
