Before Proposing, Man Fakes His Own Death

A wealthy Russian man decided the best way to show his girlfriend how meaningless life would be without him was to fake his own death – and then pop the question.

Alexey Bykov of Omsk worked with a stuntman, make-up artist, screenwriter and a director to stage a phony car crash that his girlfriend would “accidentally” witness.

“When I arrived there were mangled cars everywhere, ambulances, smoke, and carnage,”Kolokov told Russian media. “Then when I saw Alexey covered in blood lying in the road a paramedic told me he was dead and I just broke down in tears.”

After the incident took place, Bykov rose from the road and proposed to his girlfriend while dripping in blood. She considered killing him herself, but decided to marry him instead.

“I wanted her to realise how empty her life would be without me and how life would have no meaning without me,” Bykov said. “I think it worked but I promise it’s the last time.”
