McDonald’s To Open Vegetarian Restaurant in India
0The fast-food giant reported yesterday its plans to open the first vegetarian-only restaurant next year in India.
McDonald’s has been known to tailor their menus to the suit their locals. In India, for example, it uses chicken instead of beef for its Maharaja Mac sandwich.
The first location will open near the Golden Temple in Amritsar and the second will be near the Vaishno Devi cave in Kashmir.
“It will be the first time we have opened a vegetarian restaurant,” a spokesman for McDonald’s in northern India, Rajesh Kumar Maini, told AFP. “There is a big opportunity for vegetarian restaurants (in India) as many Indians are vegetarian.”
