Man Steals Rare Coins Only To Spend Them on Pizza and Movie Tickets

A Washington man suspected of stealing a woman’s collection of rare coins worth around $100,000 has been accused of spending those coins on movie tickets and pizza.

Police say 19-year-old Dakoda Garren stole a box of Liberty Head quarters, Morgan dollars and various other rare coins from a home in Woodland.

The Daily News reported that Garren may have gotten away scot-free if he hadn’t spent the coins at face value at various shops.

Thanks to a local tipster, the coins were traced to Garren who was arrested and charged with first-degree theft. When accused, he confessed to all charges.
