0For decades, AAA has recommended holding the steering wheel at the 10 & 2 hand position. However, due to advances in steer technology, they have changed their mind and decided 8 & 4 is the better option.
The 10 & 2 hand position was introduced when cars didn’t have power steering. With those cars, it was easier to pull than push on the steering wheel. Now that every car has power steering, it’s much less fatiguing to drive with your hands lower on the wheel.
